Top 10 Reasons Why Christmas Is The Best Time Of The Year | Blogmas 2018 Day 1
Merry Christmas everyone! To those who don't know Christmas is my favorite time of the year and in my opinion the best time of year. That is why I decided to partake in blogmas and spread some Christmas cheer. The very first post will be my top 10 reasons why Christmas is the best time of the year.
1. It is the time we celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ our Savior. I remember as a child I had my mom make a birthday cake complete with candles and after Christmas supper we would gather around and sing happy birthday to Jesus. I still make a cake today.
2. It's cozy sweater season! I usually try to wear cozy sweaters before Christmas season but it doesn't get cool enough here in Arizona to wear sweaters until Christmas time. Along with this is ugly Christmas sweaters. Most people call them "ugly Christmas sweaters" I call them very Christmas-sy Christmas sweaters. I have a whole section of my closet dedicated to Christmas sweaters!
3. Twinkle lights! Twinkle lights are perfect for creating a cozy atmosphere. We still keep up some twinkle lights throughout the year but nothing like when we decorate the house in the winter time.
4. Hot chocolate. I love curling up on the couch next to the firplace with a mug of hot chocolate while watching Christmas movies. Which brings us to our next item on the list:
5. Christmas movies! Need I say more? Who doesn't like watching Christmas movies?
6. Christmas music! I love Christmas music so much that I listen to it all year long. Most people don't lol. Whenever I hear Christmas music I am instantly put in an amazing mood.
7. Family. This is the time of year where no matter what we can always come together. Even if we can't physically be near those we love, technology has made it so we can still connect with them. For example, I skype with my family and we open presents together Christmas morning.
8. Cranberries. I love cranberry anything. After all I was raised in Wisconsin (I suggest you look up Warren, WI and cranberries). This is the time they are in season and I have them in everything! Plain cranberries, cranberry pie, cranberry muffins, cranberry bagels, cranberry bread, cranberry jam, cranberry sauce, you get the idea.
9. Traditions. I love having traditions. Christmas is perfect for them and even though most families have traditions similar to ours they're still special.
10. Last but definitely not least, snow!!! Snow is amazing, magical, pure, and one of my favorite things about the Christmas season. Growing up in Wisconsin I still remember the feeling of pure joy during the first snow fall, the fresh snow glistening against the sun light, and all the activities I could do in it. Snow angels, sledding, snowboarding, making igloos, snow ball fights, etc. Here in Arizona we don't get much snow but we do get some and I treasure whenever we get it.
I could probably go on forever but I decided to stick to 10. What are your favorite things about Christmas?
