How I Stay Within My Budget For Christmas | Blogmas 2018 Day 12
Happy Blogmas day 12! Today I thought I'd share my tips on how I stay within my Christmas present budget.
Tip #1: Make a budget and stick to it!
This may be obvious to some but it's the most important tip. Think of how many people you have to shop for, the budget you have for all the gifts, and how much you will spend on each person. Then stick to it!
Tip #2: Start early!
I start shopping for both presents and stocking stuffers very early. Like August. Why do you ask? I do this so that way I can always keep an eye out for the best deals. I don't go out to shop for Christmas presents specifically but if I see something I know someone will like I pick it up and set it aside. It also reduces stress from trying to shop last minute. By Thanksgiving I have almost everyone's presents bought. The presents I don't have bought I at least have picked out.
Tip #3: Shop sales!
I like to look through sale ads for items I have on my list or for something that someone might like. Veteran's Day sales, Thanksgiving sales, Black Friday sales, Memorial Day sales, etc. I don't usually actually go into the store, I usually go on the store's website and order from there. That way I don't have to worry about whether they have it in stock or not after I get there and I can just have it delivered to my house.
Tip #4: Buy insurance when mailing your presents
It's the holidays. Plenty of people will be mailing their presents to loved ones and there's a chance that your mail could be misplaced, delivered to the wrong address, lost, or damaged. I always get insurance when mailing presents and keep track of where the package is with the tracking number.
